Description
These flowers are known for their bright orange color. The orange California poppy (Californica Eschscholzia) is an iconic sign of spring in the Bay Area. Each golden flower has four petals, which close at night or during cold, windy, or cloudy weather.
It symbolizes the beauty and joy of the state. It is also associated with hope, positivity, and friendship. Additionally, in some contexts, it is used as a symbol of remembrance, especially in connection with Armistice Day, although that association is more common with the red poppy.
As a fun fact, the California poppy was selected as the state flower of California on April 6, 1903.
It measures 2 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. They are sold individually and are made to order.
